Kayla & Pete: A Three-Day Dream Bali Wedding

Kayla and Pete’s wedding at Hotel Komune Resort & Beach Club ran across three days and welcomed 100 guests, with every space, meal and detail coordinated on-site by Komune’s events team from the first planning call through to the final poolside afternoon.

The couple stayed in a Beachfront Pool Suite for the duration, with ocean views bookending the celebration.

Day One: Welcome Event (Friday)

The celebration opened low-key and beachside. A ceremony rehearsal ran at midday, followed by an afternoon welcome party on the Coconut Lawn with a relaxed cocktail-style setup with a mix of high and low tables and a pizza selection.

Day Two: The Wedding (Saturday)

The beach was professionally groomed and security was in place ahead of guest arrivals. The bridal party started with hair and makeup at 10am over drinks and canapés. At 3:30pm, Kayla and Pete were married on the Wedding Lawn, overlooking the ocean at Keramas, before photos and the reception moved to the Wedding Deck Lawn and then the Wedding Deck.

The reception followed a botanical-mix styling theme, with greenery and floral arrangements running through the tablescapes and ceremony space. Dinner was served under naked-bulb lighting, followed by the bridal waltz and a five-hour DJ set. The wedding cake was cut that evening, a moment made even sweeter by the coincidence that the day was also one of the groomsmen’s birthdays, with the celebration shared between the two.

Guests were welcomed on arrival with a signature drink, and later in the evening the party moved down to the Beach Club pool, dancing continuing under cover of the beach deck.

Day Three: Recovery Party (Sunday)

Sunday kept the celebration going at an easier pace. A floating breakfast was served at 9am, guests gathered at the Pool Lawn from 11am, and by midday the group had settled in at the Beach Club, with tables and poolside daybeds reserved for them for the day.

One personal touch: the groom had requested for the NRL match (Warriors v Cowboys) to be on the TVs.

The Planning

Across three days and five different venue spaces: Coconut Lawn, Wedding Lawn, Wedding Deck, Pool Lawn and the Beach Club, the couple and their guests stayed on-property throughout the festivities, with Komune’s team handling the coordination behind each transition:

  • Kylie, the couple’s dedicated wedding planner, worked with them for months ahead of the day, shaping their vision into a plan across all three days.
  • Dewa ran point on the ground across the welcome event, wedding and recovery day.
  • Puriwanti and Anta, the bride’s personal “shadows,” supported her directly throughout the day.
  • The kitchen team, led by Head Chef, alongside named staff the couple singled out personally, carried service across three different formats: a casual pizza night, a formal reception, and a floating breakfast.

The birthday cake and the NRL request are small things, but they show how the team worked around this particular couple’s wishes rather than sticking to a fixed script.

“WOW, WOW, WOW!!!

We couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect place to celebrate our wedding. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, every single aspect exceeded our expectations.

The beachfront location is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views that created the most incredible backdrop for our ceremony and photos. The wedding setup was flawless – every detail was beautifully executed, and it truly felt like a dream come to life.

The staff were exceptional throughout our stay. Every team member was so warm, friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding and holiday unforgettable. The level of service was second to none. Special thank you to our wedding planner Kylie for her incredibly caring, kind and attentive nature, perfect planning, looking after our every need for the 9-12 months prior and bringing every idea to life for our special day, the legend himself Dewa who executed everything with precision on the welcome, wedding and recovery days and wore the biggest smile always while doing it. He made us feel incredibly special every time he saw us and he really did become a great friend to us over the time we were there, my bride shadows Puriwanti and Anta, absolutely adore these two ladies, looked after me from start to finish, waiting on every need, providing calming hugs and smiles, all whilst making me like the most special bride, and also special mentions to the chefs including the head chef who always made himself known to us, and then Sumai, Hendrix, Gei, Nanuk and all other Komune staff for the absolutely flawless service over our time spent there.

The food was outstanding, with every meal beautifully presented and full of flavour. Our guests are still talking about how incredible everything was! The rooms were exquisite – spacious, luxurious, immaculately maintained, and the perfect place to relax while taking in the spectacular ocean views.

If you’re looking for the perfect beachfront wedding venue in Bali, we cannot recommend this resort highly enough. Thank you for giving us memories that will last a lifetime. It was everything we hoped for and so much more. We can’t wait to return again soon to reminisce and relive such a special chapter of our lives.”
