3. Pura Taman Ayun Temple

No trip to Bali is complete without experiencing the cultural wonders found in Bali’s many temples and monkey forests. One of the best things to do in Bali is book a day trip and make the most of your day by visiting multiple sites. One of our favourite combinations is the ancient Pura Taman Ayun Temple, built in 1634 and inhabited until 1891 when neighbouring kingdoms conquered it and the Kedaton Monkey Forest, where you will walk among the hundreds of resident primates living there. Just make sure you hide your sunglasses and leave your handbags and other loose items in the vehicle, as Bali monkeys are notoriously cheeky!
